lake superior

your eyes are deep blue
like lake superior
the curls in your hair are the waves
your smile sparkles like sunshine
on the water
but
like the lake you have a dark side
a wild
raging side
one that pulls me down
into the cold dark depths
leaving me without air
gasping
all because of
the beauty
that drew me in

DIY friendship bracelet

See Harry's bracelet? [x]
This idea is inspired by the Links of
London's friendship bracelet, which are very popular right now. The same bracelets
British/Irish boyband One Direction wear. Currently I am trying to figure out how to make one more like the real ones, (did I mention that the real ones sell for about $250?) without having to make my own metal posts, I have an idea but because I have none of the supplies, here is a different one until I succeed with that.

*this is my very first DIY post, so if it seems too confusing or anything please tell me in the comments*

You will need:
Embroidery floss
One 24" silver ball chain necklace
1 silver bead that will be big enough to thread both ends of the bracelet through, the size of the bead depends on the bracelet size.
A needle and thread
Optional: 2 little beads to be used for the ends, I just made knots.

First you will need to make a plain friendship bracelet out of embroidery floss, if you do not know how to click here. Mine is 7 strands.

Once you have your bracelet line the end of the ball chain necklace up to the end of the bracelet like this

Now you can start sewing it on, two stitches per gap.

When you reach the end of the bracelet you will need to tie off the string and cut the ball chain. The rest of the ball chain will be for the other side. Do the same thing for the other side.

Once you are done with both sides it should look like this

You can do whatever you want for the extra end pieces, I did a unicorn braid. Just twist both sides to the right then twist together to the left, it should look like this.

Now you will need the bigger bead, thread both ends through it like this

Make sure it isn't too loose or the bracelet will just become too loose.

To finish it off either knot the ends or add beads, then just trim the excess strings and voila! You have your own DIY bracelet like Harry Styles' bracelet.

I hope you enjoyed my very first DIY post!

Quackniss Everwing the Duck on Fire

Well I'm back! Yeah, I've been really busy so I haven't had time to blog. But it's summer time so I can again. So far my summer has been pretty good, reading all day, Cedar Point, beaches, reading all night, leisurely swimming. Fun stuff.

Anyway, back to the original topic. A Hunger Games rubber duck, Quackniss! I recently bought a paint your own rubber duck kit and this happened. I probably love The Hunger Games a bit too much.

I'm pretty happy with it, I collect rubber ducks so this is a unique piece. I've even found where I can buy a bunch of the plain rubber ducks so I could possibly start selling them on Etsy or something. But who knows.

The Hunger Games was awesome!!!

(this may contain spoilers, you've been warned)

I recently got into the hunger games series (like 2 weeks ago) I read them so fast, Catching Fire only took me like 4 and a half hours. My mom even got into them (She's becoming a fan girl! She even cried when Katniss said goodbye to Prim! She said it was because it reminded her of me and my sister), so we went to the midnight showing of The Hunger Games.

It was amazing! Pretty much just like the book. Of course there were a few parts that were added or taken out, but it's understandable, it was already 140 minutes. The actors were phenomenal, Josh Hutcherson makes an amazing Peeta! He's just adorable! They all better win awards. And the costumes were amazing too, I liked the flaming dress.

One thing I didn't really like was how in the end Peeta didn't find out she was just acting. I think that would have been great, like a cliffhanger. Also, Peeta got to keep his leg. You go Peeta.

I don't understand why the UK edited it, it wasn't that gory. Yes, there was killings and blood, but not a huge amount. I'm sure Mockingjay will be much bloodier.

Speaking of Mockingjay, I just finished it. I don't know how to describe my emotions! Especially about the end! I'm glad she ended up with Peeta, I never really liked Gale. And poor little Prim...I cried when she died. But I hate the people who think it ruined the whole story, it made it real, added so much emotion. If everyone lived and it was all happily ever after it wouldn't be as good. Like in the end with Peeta and Katniss being so broken, but helping each other repair themselves made it so good. Sad, but it was beautiful. And how Peeta wanted kids? Oh my gosh, that was cute! I want a guy like Peeta...

Okay, okay my little Hunger Games ramble is over. Now I must wait until November 22 for Catching fire....

Oh one last thing, a funny story. So last night I just got 3 hours of sleep, and I was outside cleaning and this huge wasp started buzzing my head, I freaked out picturing Katniss and the tracker jackers in my head and ran in the house.

Yeah, I don't think I would survive the Hunger games. Well, I might. If I volunteered for my sister, to win it for her. But it also depends on what the Arena was like and who I was up against. And if I had my own Peeta...

Anyway, this will be hunger games week on this awesome blog!

Also look at my cool Girl on Fire nails!

I've been neglecting my blog.

Oh my, I haven't posted anything in a while...But I have a perfectly good reason! Okay, maybe not to some of you.

Sherlock. Sherlock, Sherlock, Sherlock.

Okay, maybe Benedict Cumberbatch too.

There's my excuse. Also Doctor Who.

They are AMAZING! Steven Moffat and Mark Gratiss are amazing writers, the stuff they write is just wow. I finished the first season of Sherlock in 2 days. Now it's all I can think about. I have to wait until May for the second season. May:| But Tumblr has kinda ruined it for me.

So I've decided to try to figure out how Sherlock fakes his death. Before the third season. All Moffat has said is that we've missed a big clue.

He can be really sadistic to us fans.

Went to the mall yesterday. I got a snazzy unicorn necklace and some cool earrings from Forever 21. I didn't get any clothes because the store was really small. It was weird because the mall was huge.

Anywho, can you believe it's Christmas Eve? It's like the beginning of December goes by so slowly, the BAM! It's Christmas Eve! Yesterday I finished shopping for my mom, so I'm pretty much done. Except for my two best friends.

Yes, I know I'm a bad friend for waiting so long.

But they aren't any help. I keep asking them for ideas, they always say they don't care or know. So I think I'll just get them a BORT. Bag Of Random Things. But what kind of random things?
Fashion scarves?
Hipster glasses?
Keys?
Candy?
Bubbles?
Rings?
Socks?
Glitter?
Crayons?

*sigh* I don't know how my mother does this.

Harry Potter and the deathly hallows part 2 was AMAZING! It certainly ended with a bang. They even did the 19 years later. I'll admit I cried a little. Like when I saw how caring Snape was....

Anywho, I'd like to point out a few things I wish they had put in the movies, that would have made them, awesomer.

Peeves. I mean they had the other ghosts...and Peeves did that awesome song when Harry killed Voldemort..

When Harry, Ron, And Hermione see Neville and his grandma visiting his parents. And his mom gives him the candy wrapper...

Or when Dudley tells harry he doesn't think he's worthless...
